The short answer
If you removed the bar-end weight on your Moto Guzzi and found a solid, welded piece with a threaded hole instead of a hollow tube — congratulations, nothing is wrong with your bike.
That welded insert is the mounting point. It's an M6 threaded boss that Moto Guzzi welds into the factory handlebar to hold the bar-end weights. Our Moto Guzzi bar-end mirrors are designed to bolt directly into that same M6 thread. No drilling, no expander wedges, no handlebar swap.
Why riders get confused
Most universal bar-end mirrors are built for hollow handlebars: they use a rubber or aluminum expander that slides inside the open tube and clamps outward. When a Guzzi owner unscrews the factory weight and sees a solid welded plug, the expander-type hardware obviously won't fit — and it looks like bar-end mirrors are impossible on this bike.
They're not. You just need hardware made for the threaded bar, not the hollow bar.
Installation in three steps
- Remove the factory bar-end weight. One bolt per side. Tip: use a well-fitting hex key and steady pressure — the factory thread-locker can be stiff, and a worn key can round or snap the bolt head. A short burst of heat from a hair dryer helps loosen the thread-locker.
- Place the supplied spacer against the bar end.
- Bolt the mirror on with the supplied M6 bolt into the factory insert. Torque snugly, adjust the ball joints, done.

No. Only the bar-end weight comes off.
Q: Will this fit my aftermarket handlebar?
No — the M6 hardware is for the factory welded insert only. Use our hollow-bar hardware for aftermarket bars.

Apply heat to soften the thread-locker and use a quality hex bit. If the head is already stripped, a bolt extractor works on the factory bolt without harming the welded insert.
